Lower Turks Head

Great location. Very clean. The bed was incredibly comfy. A bar right on your doorstep, and the staff were very friendly.

The room was brilliant, but it was far too hot. I hate to mention it because everything else was great, but I had to sleep with the window open. That was the only issue

Hôtel extrêmement bien situé. Lit confortable, chambre bien équipée, chauffage réglable et efficace. Pas de difficultés avec le bar car ils ferment assez tôt en Angleterre.

The plave was really easy to find. The gentlman that booked us in really nice and friendley. The room was basic but everything you needed and had the added bonus of having a veranda. Bed really comfy. Only down side was the plug in sink not working.

The bathroom sink the plug once down wouldn't come back up.

We used the Lower Turks Head as a base for our two-day visit to Manchester and it proved to be an excellent value-for-money choice. First impressions were good when we arrived at about 11am – although the pub wasn’t open for business the gentle sounds of Northern Soul were to be heard from inside! Check-in was scheduled for 2pm but the landlord was happy to let us leave our bags inside so that we could explore before returning later. When we did actually check in we found that our room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. The pub doesn’t serve food but the atmosphere was so warm and friendly that we stayed for a couple of drinks before venturing out for dinner. The pub is right in the middle of the lively Northern Quarter so it’s a great base for exploring Manchester by either day or night. The landlord and his excellent team create a lively but relaxing environment in this historic and somewhat quirky but traditional pub. Breakfast isn’t available at the pub but there is a wide choice of early morning venues within less than 5 minutes walk . We would definitely recommend the Lower Turks Head for anyone wanting reasonably priced overnight accommodation in Manchester City Centre – in fact we are already planning a return visit!

Nothing could have been improved without adding additional cost. What was offered exceeded our expectations within our budget.
