The Sheppey Inn

Just perfect. Don't be fooled by the outside. We stayed for three nights and ate dinner at The Sheppey each night. Fairly informal, staff were friendly and helpful, service was quick and attentive. Food was delicious. Very good cocktails. It felt like the middle of nowhere when we first arrived as the satnav led us down the roads that are not much more than tracks. Clearly has a good local reputation as they were busy in the restaurant midweek and at the weekend and there can't be any walk-ins because of the location. Have stayed in much posher hotels with less attention to detail about what you actually need in a hotel room for a comfortable stay. They'd thought of all the little details and the fresh milk, juice and breakfast (replenished daily) was a pleasant surprise as we'd booked room only. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely return.

Nothing. We refused the room and lost our advance payment for 2 nights stay.

Room 2 had peeling paint above the bed head. A few large stains on the carpet were a bit of a turn-off. The room was not in a clean and acceptable condition as a reasonable person would expect.

Everything. The vibe and atmosphere was amazing. Staff were all very kind and welcoming. The food was delicious, very high quality and we will most certainly be staying again. Loved the fresh fruit and glassed milk and orange in our room. We lovesd the pub the outside space, and darts board it was very unique.

A lovely large clean room, great comfy bed and an excellent bathroom with walk in shower and toiletries'. A small kitchenette area with kettle and fridge. Breakfast was provided by way of cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice.. Milk, tea, coffee and biscuits are also provided and replenished when needed. We had meals in the restaurant in the evening. Good choice of food, great service from the polite friendly staff.

Superb staff, food, and accommodation. Locals are friendly. Location a short drive from Glastonbury and Wells. Would definitely go again.

Needs black out curtains.!
