Beds were nice. They gave water bottles every day. Heritage property with antique furniture. The reception area is very interesting. Breakfast was good. Hot breakfast and fruits and juice available every day. Quiet place other than when next door construction was going on.

Next door property construction sounds were very loud throughout the day. You can hear all the sounds from the room next door. Rooms should be deep cleaned once in a few weeks as the curtains were very dusty and stuff was falling on the beds from the curtains.

Great location and helpful staff, good breakfast provided (though too late for early departures), very clean and great wifi! Great value for money if you are looking for a cozy b&b.

The shower wasn't working (only bucket showers :) ).

Breakfast was good and was served in the room as requested. The location is good and check in process was hassle-free.

The funky entrance decor with the reception desk fashioned out of an Ambassador car's front hood and the quirky decor everywhere was the ONLY plus point.

1) First off, the pictures do not reflect reality. The hotel needs a full-on renovation and an upgrade - it is old, dated and crumbling. The windows all had bird poop stains on them from the outside and were dusty - one wouldn't dream of opening these windows; the washroom doors were old aluminium framed wooden doors in need of much repair. There's a fine line between "atmosphere" and "charm", and being functional. The hotel management doesn't seem to know this line - there has been ZERO investment in the property since its launch, it appears. The pictures on the site appear to have been taken when the property opened for business. 2) I went in December when Kolkata was going through an unusually cold spell of winter. The throws I was given were not even blankets - they were "dohars" and I had only one dohar. (A dohar is basically a 2 or 3 layered cloth throw, not sufficient for a winter night). The property said they did not have ANY quilts on offer in any room (bare minimum requirement, don't you think?), no heaters and no hot water bags. Additionally my room was terribly damp and cold and I had to sleep with a sweater on for the 2 nights I stayed here. Not a fun experience. 3) Breakfast spread is very very meagre. Apparently they only make breakfast on demand - during my stay, I saw none of the other guests opting for breakfast - instead all of them chose to step out for it. 4) Location at night could get a bit dodgy - the lane can be dark and quiet at night. 5) Finally, at 5K a night (or more), it is a really really bad deal! 6) Also can the receptionist lady be a little less grumpy please? She had such an attitude as though she was doing me a favour by letting me have a room! Unbelievable. Question to management - what are you thinking, pricing this stay at 5K a night? Advice to other guests - Please pay 2-3K a night more, and you could check into the Elgin or other equivalent full-service hotels.

Nice quiet Guest house with good connectivity in south Kolkata. Is good for both short stays and long stays

The hotel is neat & compact & well maintained. The staff are cordial & helpful.

There was a door in between the room where we stayed & the adjacent room. People coming to the adjacent room has a tendency to try to open the door. Sometimes they use force & even bang the door. We experienced this at the middle of a night which obviously was a very disturbing. Suggest if the door can be replaced by a wall or sealed wooden partition.
