The Greytown Hotel

Friendly and kind staff in a truly character setting - one of NZs oldest pubs - made this a good spot for an overnight! Great to see Matahiwi bubbles on the wine list and the beef burger was satisfying. Defo a good choice for a traveller on a budget. And a bath just across the hallway!

No complaints. It was a budget stay and all my needs were covered.

This is a 19th century hotel so don’t expect all modern amenities. A bit less renovated than other country pubs we have stayed in but with charm.

Location was great in relation to the centre of Greytown. Easy to find

Very friendly staff, food was great. Love the laid back vibe of the hotel and over all experience was very good.

The fact that I couldn't get plastered at the bar until closing because we had an early start.

The Irish lady running the hote was fantastic!! She was excellent.

The pillows were a little uncomfortable.

I stayed in the budget room which was small but comfortable. It had tea and coffee facilities in the room. There were no ladybugs unlike a previous reviewer. The hotel is quite old with shared and a bit dated bathroom facilities, but the price reflects this. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They were able to fit our large group in for an evening meal at short notice. The attached Top Pub was pleasant with a pub style menu.

There was a bit of traffic noise in the front bedrooms as it is close to the road.
