The Greytown Hotel

I loved the experience of staying in an authentic heritage building. The proprietor was welcoming and made us feel welcome after a very long journey. I had no issues at all and would come back and stay.

Great spot to stay in greytown, would definitely recommend. The staff were very friends and the owners were absolutely amazing. Ursula was very accommodating and we look forward to staying again.

Location was handy to the place we were going and almost accessible to everything. Staff was friendly and showed us around.

Could’ve been better if there was no ladybug pestering around the ceiling when we’re already in bed. Found about 7-8 inside room and they do fly! Ive got my son sleeping on other bed and seen one crawling, that’s when i found out when I look at ceiling that it’s around the room. And just when we’re about to go in the morning, thought there was a fly flying, nope! Just the ladybug 🐞 which landed on the curtain. They seriously need to start cleaning the room to remove those tiny ladybugs. Whilst it doesn’t pose much of danger, I wasn’t able to have a good sleep as was waking up checking thinking it might crawl on us and get inside our ears coz they’re quite tiny, and that could be painful if it does end there! Left a review at their site as well to tell that it’s infested with tiny ladybugs🐞 also could do better with kettle, was about to make tea but found it very rusty.

Updated bathrooms are nice. Room is cosy enough.

Arriving to check in was a little uncomfortable, waited awhile as no one was at counter so had to go through to the pub side which was very rowdy and it was just overall an awkward encounter. They just not communicate of how long someone stays for as I was asked every morning by the cleaner if I was staying again and I did make clear I wanted to be left alone/didn’t require my room to be cleaned but one morning she did when I was out so I couldn’t say in person no again. Overall I would not return. The menus given to you for the room for the restaurant downstairs is different to the menu given at the restaurant so that was also frustrating.

It's all about the character and charm. The room was well equipped with Kettle etc. It was quite cold when we stayed but the heater in the room was fabulous. Very clean, the room and the toliet/bathroom. Easy walk to town, with a child about 5mins. No breakfast on site or cooking facilities but plenty of cafes in walking distance.

Not necessarily a negative but if you're sensitive to noise you don't want to be alongside the main road, it seemed like trucks were going past most of the night. Room 1. Didn't notice noise from downstairs though.

Road noise was more than ideal but not too unexpected.
