This experience was incredibly unpleasant, and it completely ruined what was supposed to be a fun and relaxing part of our trip. I sincerely hope Booking.com takes swift action to investigate this pousada and the owner's conduct. They should not be allowed to continue operating on the platform given the way they treat guests. Stay away from this Pousada.

I regret to say that my stay at this pousada was one of the worst experiences I’ve had while traveling. We booked four rooms and what we encountered was far below the standards promised on the Booking.com platform. 1. Substandard Rooms: Two of the rooms we were assigned were not fit for human occupancy. There were large holes in the floors, no ceiling in the bathroom, and the rooms were infested with ants, mosquitoes, and cockroaches. It was absolutely unacceptable. After multiple messages, we were finally moved to different rooms, but the initial experience was a complete disaster. 2. Hidden Costs: While breakfast was included in the booking, we were informed at checkout that espresso coffee was not part of the package, and we were charged an additional €1 per coffee. This should have been clearly stated at check-in, as it felt like a hidden fee. 3. Unethical Behavior and Overcharging: At checkout, the owner claimed that we had booked for four people instead of eight and demanded an additional €140 in cash refusing to make the payment through the platform booking.com, that it was 80 euro. At the same time, there was no internet connection, no one on-site spoke English, and the owner was unreachable as he was in another city. We were not allowed to leave until we made the payment in cash, which was incredibly stressful. 4. Unfair Cancellation to Avoid Review: After finally paying, the owner canceled our reservation on Booking.com as if we had never stayed there, preventing us from leaving a review and sharing our experience with others. This seems like a deliberate attempt to hide the terrible conditions and treatment. 5. A Complete Waste of Time: We lost an entire day at check-out because we couldn’t leave until we paid the extra amount the owner demanded. Then, we spent another day trying to resolve the issue with Booking.com
