Stayed in November. Manager/Owner kept switching the heating off even though itwas freezing. When I complained, they provided a small blow heater. Restaurant closed, no breakfast offered. No heating in the bar either except for a small blow heater. TERRIBLE PLACE!

Nice room , groundfloor so perfect for dog , comfortable bed , shower-room etc , clean and comfy, plenty of storage , good telly , easy access to walks - lanes and paths and village . The Croxdale is a friendly pub as well as hotel plus there are others in the area like the Green Tree - a nice walk away that does lunches. Bus service into town is frequent and affordable and close by . There is a riverside walk from nearby along the river into the City which is a delight .

Checked in just after 15.00, freezing room, cleaned well managed to leave a bottle top from previous client on middle of floor. Run down bottom of the rung HMO accommadation .Towels were damp and the room was seriously run down. Advertse restaurant as open but was told it was closed that night. I booked accommadation elsewhere. I complained to booking.com but theyb havent replied .Steer clear of this place complete shithole.

Well the room stank awful, the wifi was terrible and didn't work probably. At 10.45 on Friday night a large dog was barking like mad in the next room and woke me up. I rang the manager who came up straight away I complained about the dog barking his comment was dogs are supposed to bark and if I didn't like it I should leave. WHAT I am a paying customer he started to get confrontational and put his had around the door to moved the latch into the locked position position to stop me from shutting it I moved his hand away and changed the latch back again. he told me he was going to call the police and I said go ahead please do. He went away after I slammed the door in his face but came back 10 minutes later knocking at my door waking me up AGAIN He asked me to open the door again and I told him to go away unpolitely of course. He then came back again 10 minutes later knocking the door AGAIN waking me up AGAIN I just told him again to go away unpolitely of course. At this point I locked the door myself in case he decided to actually let himself in because he has obviously got a spare key which made it a very uncomfortable nights sleep. I was awake at 6.30am the next morning and left the premises by 6.45am . WHAT A HORRIFC ORDEAL TO GO THROUGH. NEVER AGAIN WIL I STAY THERE WHAT A DUMP.
