The Heathfield Inn

It was the most beautiful pub I have ever stayed in

We had to cut it short due to extreme weather conditions. It was so hot and having a thatched roof made the bedrooms even hotter. I’m sure if they invested in some fans it would make the room a lot more comfortable.

Excellent beer, warm atmosphere, comfortable room

Big disappointment on the breakfast - which was not served

We booked this hotel principally for its proximity to Honiton Station as we needed to attend an afternoon lunch at a friend's house in the Blackdown Hills and arrived on time at Honiton from Waterloo at about 12.15. In the absence of taxis and not being familiar with the local geography and distances the helpful lady in the ticket office urged us to take a bus which had just pulled in, get off at Tesco and the Inn is 5 minutes walk away. On Sunday, no other bus for 3 hours. So off we went. The Heathfield Inn was a charming former farm house and had once sat alone in many acres but when the farm was sold a considerable housing estate was built around the Inn, so it's an unexpected find in a series of cul-de-sacs. It was doing a fine trade in Sunday lunch in perfect weather. We managed to find a taxi to Clayhidon (hard to find, hard to reach) and returned early evening for light supper and a glass of wine in the lovely gardens. Our room (#3) was spacious, very comfortable and overlooked the gardens. Breakfast was listed from 8 to 9.30 but it was about 8.10 before the breakfast service opened, allowing me plenty of time to dash to Tesco and buy a morning newspaper. We really enjoyed our stay and are so grateful for all the kind help we received from lady in ticket office, lady bus driver and the staff at the Inn. We used Sparkys and Millstream taxis but believe we could have comfortably walked to the station had the weather not been so hot. Probably about 10 minutes and there is a cut through the cul-de-sac to the main road towards town.

The staff were friendly, bed comfortable and room was large.

The bath water was cold and the bar speaker was under our room so was kept awake until 12 every night until the music stopped. Also there was a loud event until 12 one night. Not great when you seek peace and quiet. Was not expecting the pub to be in the middle of a housing estate.

Nettes Inn, Guter Service. Wir hatten hatten ein perfektes Abendessen. Super Qualität. Frühstück war Englisch aber mit Auswahl. Sehr gemühtlich und gute Lage für eine Durchreise. B&B und Pub mit sehr guter Austattung.Sehr gepflegte Anlage, aber etwas abseits der Innenstadt. War für unsere Durchreise nicht releavant. Gute Parkmöglichkeiten, auch für grosse Autos. Und für Raucher gute Überdachte Smoke-Area.

Wer länger bleibt, etwas ausserhalb des Ortes. War nicht unser Problem.

Great comfortable room, spotlessly clean and well equipped. Bathroom beautifully presented and again, spotlessly clean. Breakfast was amazing. Freshly cooked and piping hot. Very good parking with lots of spaces. Bar/restaurant staff friendly and helpful.

Water could have been hotter

The hotel was in an easy to find location and staff were very friendly - we only stayed one night but had no issues at all. We didn't need breakfast but staff also offered us a takeaway breakfast so we didn't miss out.

We had no issues - thehotel was quiet and we didn't even hear the noise from the pub downstairs.
