Breakfast was good. Location was good on the West Quay. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

As an older couple our room was up several flights of steep narrow stairs.

"A very enjoyable, relaxing stay."

Room was large and King bed was a four-poster and very comfortable. Lots of light from 4 windows, comfortable settee, small tub chair and room was warm. Bathroom (with shower also) was large and well equipped with plentiful hot water. Very informative information file in room and good lighting, with plenty of space for clothing. Tea & coffee facilities in room with biscuits. Zoe & Gary very friendly and made you feel at home and relaxed. Towels and bed linen spotless. Whole pub was clean and cared for. Good choice for breakfast and my husband enjoyed a Salmon Bomb (smoked sliced salmon filled with scrambled egg), a "Gary Special". Percolated coffee was plentiful and breakfast very enjoyable in the quieter dining room that was overspill to the old pub. A short walk away was the harbour-side and a short walk over the bridge to the interesting old fishing village of East Looe and a clean beach that does not allow dogs on it at any time of the year. The coastal path from Looe (Hanniford) to Polperro was a lovely walk in beautiful weather, and we caught the bus back to just outside the pub. It is a 3-4hr walk (depending on fitness) and you can take a breather at Talland Bay on the way to Polperro. Bus stop just 20 yards from pub with Spar opposite. All in all, a good choice for accommodation.

The only sticking point was parking. There is a Cornwall Council small car park 50 yards away but all-day charge is expensive (around £16/24hrs). There are other car parks but a good walk away and if you have a couple of cases, it would be best to offload these, then park up. Charges are roughly the same. However, there are a few free roadside parking spots next door to the pub and we were very lucky indeed to fill a space just vacated after our arrival and we stayed in this space for the 5 days. We could walk easily to the town and the beach, and all facilities that Looe provided, including the coastal path.
