Barbon Inn

Excellent full English Breakfast.

The Barbon should more prominantly flag its dog-friendly status and what it means. I was not impresssed by a visitor's dog vomitting by my breakfast table or the landlady repeatedly scolding her dog in the bar.

Evening meal, breakfast, staff, food prices reasonable which makes a change

Great location in peaceful village close to the Fells for wallking and also a great hub for exploring the Dales, Howgills and North and Eastern Lakes. Hosts are very helpful and friendly and put a lot of effort into making you feel welcome and comfortable. Nice bar food available and breakfast was plentiful and tasty !

Not a dislike, but a suggestion. My room didn't have a chair - one would be nice if possible.

We were made to feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The pub is in a scenic location in a small village accessible from the main road between Kirby Lonsdale and Sedbergh. There is loads to do from here - we went to the Howgills and the Yorkshire Dales but the Lake District is really close as well. The breakfasts and evening meals were delicious 😋 The room was cosy and had everything we needed and the shower worked well - which is a big deal after a cold day out in the fells! We will definitely be going back. Also, very importantly, there is a lovely resident dog.

Nothing - besides the fact that we wanted to stay longer!
