Pousada Naturalia

Very friendly and helpful staff who gave us information about hikes (and how to get to them/boat costs etc). Wonderful views from the room (we enjoyed relaxing on the balcony in the hammock) and nice reception/‘salon’ built around giant boulders. We joined a boat tour operated by the hotel which was great as it was a very small group (max size 7 ppl) and it started earlier than other tours and went to some different places so it felt semi-private and not very busy with others.

Felt a little bit cheap to charge for hire of the beach towels but it was only a small charge so can’t complain too much.

The breakfast was so goodddd

Really bad with slope climbing up the hotel but the view it gave for the bedroom was totally worth it

The staff at this hotel were incredible. My daughter was very unwell and they couldn't do more to help. They bent over backwards to make sure we had enough towels, blankets, water etc. All of them were just lovely. On another note, they were also very knowledgeable about what to do, where to go and helped organise our days. The hotel itself is sympathetically built into the hillside making it blend with the environment with beautiful plants and water features running though the dining area and pathways. They serve great afternoon cakes everyday as well! A truly fabulous Pousada, on a magical island, with best staff you could ever find! Thank you Pousada Naturalia.

Nice rooms - simple but clean. We liked the hammocks out on the balcony overlooking the sea view. Breakfast was decent. Only negative is the 15-20 min walk from the pier to the hotel which can be troublesome with suitcases but there are porters available to assist

Close to beach, but isolated enough to be calm and quiet. Clean modern bathroom. Nice balcony. Good value for the area. Free filtered water to drink in lobby area. The afternoon coffee was a pleasant offering.

Probably not the fault of this individual property, but the power kept going in and out due to the weather, and the generator wasn’t consistent. There were several hours on our last day that there was no electricity or WiFi, which was frustrating because we spent the whole day in the room due to the storm. The desk offered ponchos on the rainy night, but failed to inform us of the price upfront (we thought they were free because our other hotels on our trip offered them for free), so we were surprised when they charged us for it upon checkout. The breakfast area had too many insects flying around, although they had protective coverings over the fruits, I didn’t even want to open it because I was scared of the insects. So if there was something else to help the insects stay away from the food (turn the fans on maybe?) The nature is the charm of the pousada, but this was the one nature aspect that bothered me.

For the ones who are afraid of insects running in the bathroom and in the room, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The hostel is in the nature hence many insects. Our room was also smelling, we checked out one day earlier. The staff was very helpful and lovely. Good breakfast.

Modern clean rooms with lovely Forest/water view. I loved the way the building was incorporated with the landscape rocks and trees. It was convenient that the hotel coordinated our boat tour and off site massage. What a fantastic colorful display tea time and breakfast was! Everything was delicious and constantly replenished. The staff are very welcoming. We hired someone to carry our carry on and check in luggage.

I wish there was more than one mirror in the room (it was located only in the bathroom) I loved the floor to ceiling sliding doors that faced the forest but there was a gap between adjacent doors, which allowed for less efficient AC and bugs to enter: but it was still fine when screen and curtain cover.

We loved our stay: rooms are large and very clean. Breakfast is great (they have some home made pies or other things) and offer a snack in the afternoon (with the breakfast left overs which we thought was a great idea) Location is perfect if you want to stay central : uphill from the main beach and 10-15 min from the pier. It is located on the side of the beach where the cool bars / restaurants are (Che), but there is no noise The staff is really nice and they offer a snorkeling tour which we didnt do but looked better than the ones in Town

This has nothing to do with the place but if I were to come back to Ilha Grande I would probably stay in a more remote area to enjoy the beautiful beaches. I absolutely hated the pier area with all the taxi boats, also the main beach is not great to hang out during the day
