Grüner Baum

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent food in their restaurant.

The cutest hotel in beautiful location. Friendly owners and breakfast was good.

The room was clean and comfortable, with a good shower and coffee machine (BYO milk). A cheaper option than staying in the bigger towns, yet only a short drive away if you have a car.

The fridge wasn’t turned on as we were only staying one night.

It was a low season. The hosts were very friendly and polite. They made a huge German breakfast , you will be full for a half a day )) There is a bus stop nearby and you can easy get to the ferry to Kontanz.

I liked my room. It was clean and comfortably furnished. There are a number of room types available. Mine was a single. Some have lovely views. I ate at the restaurant a couple of times. The food was delicious and regional. The staff was helpful. It was quiet at night.

This has nothing to do with the Grüner Baum itself, but staying there (unless you have your own transport) does require guests to get used to the bus timetable in order to get anywhere. (there's only a baker next door that does coffee, sandwiches and cake: no other stores, but a large supermarket is a 20-minute walk towards Meersburg through a lovely, vineyard countryside. There are 3 bus lines, the 700 stops outside the Gasthof (and reliably stops – from memory: 20 past the hour). The same goes for the larger 2 lines (eg the 7395) that connect Stetten to Konstanz and Friedrichshafen. The stops for those buses are down the street on the main road. The bus to Konstanz boards the ferry across the Bodensee. The timetables are available online and at the bus stops. Once you have those, staying at the Grüner Baum is value for money. Standard bus fares (without discount tickets) were E2.70 E for short trips and E 5.00 for longer.
