The communal bath was very clean and had a good shower. The room was adequate. The staff very friendly.

It would be nice to have some water in the room.

The Pub is in keeping with an authentic Cornish fisherman’s Pub. The folk singers and shanty singers were brilliant.

Can’t think of a thing that needs improvement.

"A proper Inn, in the oldest and best sense of the word."

10.0

We booked this place because it was an intriguing location and very reasonably priced. We got much more than we bargained for! The village is hundreds of years old, with stone houses, narrow streets, and walks around every corner. This is not a picture-postcard village for tourists but a living village where every house seems to have been cared for over centuries. The Inn fits perfectly into that village and seems to be the main hub for the locals. We felt genuinely welcome to be a part of that vibe from the very minute we walked through the door. We arrived earlier than planned but the room was ready if we wanted it. We had a drink, a little chat with the host (who was also receptionist and waitress) and checked in whenever it suited us, into the Scorpio room. We booked a table for dinner and the food was brilliant. I had a meg (megrim sole), which was perfectly cooked. Whoever the chef was, they knew how to cook fish! The service was friendly and unhurried. The dining room had a great mix of patrons: weary travellers, walkers, tourists, and locals. I use the word Inn deliberately, because that was exactly the feel of the place. The room was cosy and well appointed with all the necessities: TV, coffee-making facilities, heating, and more. My usual pet peeve in hotels is the shower, no such worries since the shower was excellent here. The whole place was very clean, and I had a (smallish) view of the coast in the gale. Despite being above a pub on a Friday night, it was not noisy at all. In summary, I felt transported into a film where people are kind, the Inn is welcoming, and the food is great. It's not often you get to tick all those boxes at once. I will return and I think I'll specifically look for stormy weather when I do!

Posizione incantevole, pulito e personale disponibile. Ottima colazione.

Piccolo e sarebbe bene specificare meglio che il parcheggio si trova in alto ed occorre percorrere un sentiero nel bosco per arrivare alla struttura. Se piove e si ha una valigia l’accesso puo’ essere problematico.
