Gasthaus Bären Schlatt

Eine traumhafte Lage wenn man die Berge liebt und abseits des Trubels Ruhe sucht. eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit einem herrlichen Ausblick und ein Restaurant mit einer hervorragenden Speisekarte (Preisniveau hoch). Aber leider für die Schweiz normal. Sehr nette Gastgeber

kein Fliegengitter vor den Fenstern und die Fenster müsste man aber offen lassen weil es viel zu warm in den Zimmern ist

Quiet guesthouse and restaurant near Appenzell. We enjoyed the peaceful area which was part of a small town with a church. The food served at the restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed eating on the patio with the views of Appenzell. A great place to stay while exploring the region.

There was no elevator so carrying luggage up stairs is required.

The views from our bedroom were spectacular. Lovely outdoor seating.

The view from our rooms was astounding. The rooms were comfortable with very nice fixtures and furniture. Everything was immaculate. When we arrived after a long, rainy day on the road, we were so pleased to be able to have dinner in the Gastrube instead of driving elsewhere. The food was prepared by a chef that loves to cook. The taste and presentation were both phenomenal! It was such an unexpected treat. We enjoyed interacting with the family of this family run business and found everyone to be gracious and friendly.

The view of mountains and valley are spectacular! Dinner on the terrace was magical and the cuisine is delicious. The family that has run the gasthaus for six generations are so kind and helpful that at the end of our stay I was sad to leave them!

We loved everything! We enjoyed walking around the village. I believe a car is required since the lodgings are up on the mountain above Appenzell but only a five minute drive to town. The cowbells and church bells added to the ambiance.

Lovely people, very accommodating and friendly. Really comfortable rooms and excellent food.

Not fault of the owners but Church bells rang a lot even through the night!

Beautiful scenery right out the window. One of the cleanest guesthouse we've been to.

This is a working farm area. The church is right next door and the bell chimes every 15 minutes. Bring ear plugs if you can't sleep with the sounds.

The Gasthaus is located on the hill. You have beautiful panoramic view of Appenzell. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is kind and helpful.
