The Harbour Inn

Had a great room with a wonderful view. Food was delicious and the staff were brilliant!

If you want a calm relaxed extremely friendly Inn to stay in in an amazingly beautiful quiet area, harbour this is the place. The staff are so friendly and helpful it’s like staying with family, brilliant. The food was great with a good breakfast. I could sit in the chair by the window overlooking the harbour for hours. Thank you very much from my wife and I. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

Really nice hotel in a beautiful setting overlooking Garlieston harbour. A weekend trip re-visiting family history in the area. Rooms were clean, comfortable with a good breakfast in the morning. Evening food menu was more than sufficient with good choices and quite large portions all at sensible prices. Enjoyed sitting out in the front garden with drinks looking at the amazing views over the harbour. We'd return again for sure !

We'd have liked some fruit / yogurt at breakfast, but this didn't spoil anything.

Location is perfect waking to the views over the harbour was beautiful. Evening meal was lovely, nice cosy bar.

Breakfast, even though asked for Gluten free on booking, not effort had been made to provide gluten free sausages, which are so widely available now. Was served quite sternly too. We knew the area, but information in folder provided in the room, was quite out of date.

Location was utterly peaceful with a lovely view of the harbour and out to sea. Dinner in the dining room was excellent, the King Scallops the biggest and best I have had! Very good value too. The room was super comfortable with a generous ensuite bathroom. All staff were charming and helpful. The inn is small, cosy, and full of character, and genuinely dog-friendly.

Breakfast was good and wholesome but could have included a better choice of cereals, e.g. muesli or granola. The coffee was chickory based and could have been a lot more palatable.

Poached eggs may as well be hard boiled eggs! Breakfast staff a little abrupt. Evening meal was lukewarm. There was a birthday function as well as a busy restaurant, think the quality of the food suffered as it’s normally very good.
