The place is absolutely disgusting, filthy dirty and falling apart, the beds had been remade after they had been slept in by prior guests.. I had to ask staff to give me clean bedding for both the double and single as the shits were soiled with dried fluids 🤮… in the end we slept in our clothes on top of the quilt and took an extra sheet each to put over us .. we used to towels provided to cover the filthy carpet.. the toilet kept us awake all night as it’s a macerator and kept going off even when not being used… most vile place I have ever had to stay … if I had a bigger car we would have slept in it! I’m still itching today thinking about it!! Shame as the property has so much potential, perfect location and friendly staff… just falling apart and filthy rooms

Location was perfect Lovely views from our bedroom window- could see dolphins and seals.

The bar and pool tables weren’t accessible due to a party. We had a very early check out and the party caused a lot of noise until about 1am so it wasn’t the best night sleep.

Manager present but not communicative. Room had not been clean, sheets were badly soiled ! Tea and coffee not refreshed. Floor filthy. On arrival they couldn't find keys saying previous guest had left with them, this delayed checking in, they found a spare set. My son found the original set in the bed, along with soiled sheets! This was further evidence, if it was needed, that the room had not been prepared. The key was pointless anyway as the door can be pushed open when locked - room #3. Nice hot shower in the evening, but no hot water in the morning ! Friendly bar staff doing their best to keep a run down and poorly managed hotel going. I was told a partial refund would be given but that I would have to go through Booking.Com. I went through booking.com and they contacted the hotel and I was told no refund as I had spoken to bar staff - they were the only staff present in the morning. I discovered that the manager had been there the night before but I thought he was another member of staff as he just walked past me despite knowing about the problems - definitely not manager material. Apart from the friendly staff it was an awful experience. We plan to return to the area and Eyemouth is a good base, but we will not be staying at the Cutty Sark (formerly The Dolphin). The refund wouldn't fix the problems but it would take the edge off, but I really don't think the manager gives a toss - my advice, avoid the place.

The inn (not a hotel) was well placed for the seafront and town centre amenities. The staff are very friendly and helpful, with advice on where to eat locally. The room was comfortable and well furnished and the whole residential part of the building is well maintained and presented. There is also a resident dog- very friendly, quiet and companionable. If you can take the shortcomings and know in advance what to expect, this is actually a pleasant place to stay.

Food is not available - if you want to eat, you have to look elsewhere. Check-in was deplorable. Check-in was due to start at 1600 (rather late for most places) but I was unable to get access to my room until 1630 - I would point out that the member of staff on duty was most apologetic. The electric wiring arrangements in the bedroom were a little dodgy - with a single extension lead proding power to the kettle and TV, plus anything else you wanted to plug in (such as a laptop). There is no work area for use with a laptop in the room. There was no shampoo/shower gel in the shower. Checkout was weird - you have to let yourself out, lock the door behind you and post the key back through the letterbox. Basically, there are no staff on-site early in the morning (I left at about 8.00am).
