Stayed at the Spirit Vaults after arriving at EMA. On street parking which wasn’t a problem, managed to park outside the hotel. Opted to eat at the hotel, and went for the steak pie which was delicious. 5 stars for the beers, as you would expect it being a micro brewery. Room was quite small (cosy), but comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with good local produce.

We were ok, but could see the on street parking being a problem at busy times being opposite Melbourne Hall. Our room, although very comfortable, was on the small size. Would describe it as cosy.

Great location in the beautiful village of Melbourne. The pub brews its own lager and beer which are exceptional. By far the best beer in the village especially the Dark Vaults Ale. Beautifully decorated room and bathroom. Nice and quiet as room is at the top of the building.

The room has a double bed, but it is in the eaves of the building, with a sloping roof over one side of the bed and not much space on the other side. It is really a room for a single person, not two tall adults. The room is accessed via a tight spiral staircase which would be very unsuitable for some people with limited mobility.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food was amazing. Rooms were very comfortable and clean.

Nothing but we did think that the stairs to the top rooms would be too difficult for older people.

This place is outstanding. Even a sticker on the toilet paper and bamboo toothbrush and a mini Colgate. The room was immaculate and no expense spared on bedding, luxury items. We will return. Oh and the vegan breakfast was the best I’ve ever tasted. My daughter had a lecture, so they prepared a breakfast bag and left it on our room as promised. It was a very generous and top quality breakfast. Thank you so much. Location is perfect for us. We are going to book again for next months visit xx

Everything was perfect

Ideal location with on street parking. Room was ample in size, with enough storage and well furnished. Food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast (one of the best cooked breakfasts I’ve had in a while). Food cooked to order so a little wait, but worth it. The array of beers produced by the on site micro brewery was impressive and the four we tried between us were all excellent. The dark went particularly well with the excellent beef and Stilton pie.

If you have somewhere to be breakfast start at 8:30 is a little late (although ideal for holidays) but they do offer alternative boxed breakfast. We did ask on our second day and were kindly allowed to get in at 8:15 which got us to our nearby woodworking course in time.

Great food service and charming place

Planes were very low flying over so we’re loud. Was put in a room at the top of the place window would open just a bit only so was boiling in there as a hot day we should have asked to be moved if possible the 2nd night. Would stay again though just not room 4 on a hot day. It was very small also as in the roof part.
