Room wasn't clean or ready wen we checked n had to wait all day to get in there

Friendly welcome , great food ( onion rings were great !) nice classic village pub .

The village was so very beautiful. It was a short drive from the motorway, which was handy for our commute down to Cornwall the following morning.

I have never left a negative review, but feel like I have to in the instance. We arrived in the evening and we were told we did not have a reservation. I showed the lady my receipt and booking number, however rather than looking at this she reeled off the names of people who were actually staying in the building. I hope Kevin had a lovely stay. . I tried to show this member of staff my booking email again, however she hurried off to look at the online system. During this period of waiting, a gentleman came towards us from behind the bar and stated " oh what have we got here? Where have you two Romany travellers come from ? Not sure what he meant by this comment and why the staff started laughing. It was all a bit off and quite rude.. When the woman returned she stated we did have a reservation, they had written down the wrong name and apologised which I accepted. However once we eventually arrived in the room it was dirty, the glasses were not clean, mould in the shower tile grout, dust and really noisy. It was the worst night's sleep due to the constant sound of the generator and a howling dog ( I did understand they cannot control the neighbours dog) I certainly would never stay again and could not in good conscience recommend to anyone.

The staff are lovely and helped us in every way possible. We were also allowed our well behaved little dog.

Amazing value for money. Good sized room, comfy bed and lovely staff.

Lovely little place to stay. Room was very clean with everything in it that we needed. Bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Had some great food in the pub and the staff where very nice. Would highly recommend

The staff were all friendly, very pleasant and helpful. There was a good modern shower. We pointed out lights that didn't work and one was fixed straightaway.

We were disappointed that our 'de luxe room' was small, with minimal hanging space (3 hangers to share!) and no chair. The description led us to expect more. We would usually choose a 'breakfast included', so it was a shame the cafe next door didn't open till 9am - but of course the lack of food was clear in the description.
