The staff are great. Despite us not speaking Portuguese and the staff not speaking English, through a translator app they made sure we got all the info we needed and looked after us. The location is great. There’s some great beers in the bar. The daily housekeeping was a nice touch.

Me and my wife spent one saturday night there. The staff is very nice. The restaurant ambient is cool. The breakfast is good. The room we got was simple, but very comfortable and clean. It had air conditioner. Shower could be a little better.

The hostel is great in terms of cost x benefit, considering the island standards. The accomodations are very simple considering "decor and appliances" (although the bar that is in front of the hostel is all about pirates in a nice way), but they are also very clean and the fact of having air conditioning system is an important plus in summer. Joelson and Sharon (the hosts) are GREAT - they are always caring about everything, they are very thoughtful and hands-on people. The breakfast is pretty nice, and we enjoyed it very much (it was he energy we needed to hike).

My stay at this poussada was very pleasant. The host was super helpful even tough he did not speak any English. The breakfast was the best part about our stay. There was a buffet with a lot of choice and he also made us scrambled eggs. The rooms were very clean. The only negative things was the shower, which did not heat up properly. Would immediately stay again!

We arrived hot and wanting to either dive in the sea or slouch in front of a cooler. The guys saw this right away, and checking-in (i.e. being welcomed and showed to our room) was so fast. Very relaxed ambiance. The pousada is very near the ferry dock (go straight in front of you, then first right, you've arrived!). We shared our shower with some interesting little insects (no mosquitoes though). Very clean room. They even arranged to add a bed for our baby, and didn't charge us for the A/C. Nice bar across the 'road' (the track), very relaxed. This is a family-run business, so I gathered. Amazing value, amazing people, amazing stay.

Great staff, close to the ferry dock, very comfy and clean room, wonderful drinks and bar food. We loved the kitschy pirate theme. Our room caught the breeze so it was nice and cool in the evening. A quick walk to gorgeous beaches. Will definitely stay here again. Be sure to talk the water taxi to Brasilia, but you'll be happier staying in Encantada.

I must agree that it is the best pousada I have ever stayed in Brazil. They pay attention on every detail. The owner personally runs the pousada. It is very clean, it has air conditioning, mini bar, even mosquito repellent are supplied. The location is great, just near the pier, restaurants and beaches. The breakfast is the best part. It is delicious! Ask for the “Fuba Cake” or the “Banana Pie”. I stayed there on Easter and when we opened the door, there was a basket full of chocolates. They think on every single detail to make a pleasant stay. It is really recommended and it is not expensive. I want to go back whenever I can.

Saw this review and meant to write one myself to agree. Only change is that we had nice towels! Very clean pousada and comfortable beds. Joelson the owner is a very energetic person that loves to see his guests happy. He has quite an impressive collection in his bar! Nice music played in the bar / common area which made the rainy days we had not so bad. Great island to explore, try Fin de Trilha nearby for a great meal with fantastic service.
