The Anchor Inn

Bed was comfortable. Bar area was pleasant, though music was very loud.

I had booked two deluxe, sea view rooms, but when we arrived we were told one room was above the pub, the other was in another building 2 minutes walk away (it was raining) there was no mention of this when booking. I was quite disappointed after a long day on the road, thanks to a four hour delay due to fallen trees on the road from storm Floris. The woman begging the bar said she would see if she could do anything. She arranged for us to get 2 rooms in the outside building. She then showed us to our room. There was an unpleasant smell in the room, no idea what it was. Two lovely white towels on the bed, I opened one to find brown stains on it, I then went into the bathroom where I discovered dirt and mould in and around the shower and toilet. I wanted to address these issues with staff before we left, but there was no-one around in the bar. So unfortunately, I have no choice but to review on here. The walls are paper thin, could hear everything the people upstairs were doing 😱 Not at all impressed for £135 per room per night. This was the most expensive and worst room of our 9 day trip. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

Sehr gute Ausstattung, viel Platz und eine schöne Einrichtung. Die Lage ist vor allem für Leute gut, die dort Wanderferien machen, weil viele Routen in der Nähe starten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert.

Das Frühstück, das man dazubuchen konnte, war etwas überteuert. Das Dorf selbst gibt nicht her. 1 Pub und 1 Cafe, ansonsten gibt es nichts. Ist auch nicht schlimm, aber wer gerne flaniert oder hier und dort was trinken geht, ist da fehl am Platz.

Noisey so noisey that I had to cut my stay short and not stay a seconds evening, asked for a refund was told manager will be in touch but he’s busy still waiting 9 days later

Staff took good care of us, went out of his way to make sure we were fed, watered and had everything we needed
