Needs curtains on windows. Felt like I was in a fishbowl. Needs better toiletries. USB charging would have been nice.

The views of the ocean are amazing here, even if you don't get the NW-facing family unit. The kitchen was well equipped and the location is perfect if you want privacy. Check-in was a breeze and the staff was very helpful. Really good food nearby but nothing on site. Proximity to the Black Sands beach was great, and there is ample grassy space to take your dog out on.

My biggest complaint is that the sliding screen door for the patio was extraordinarily difficult to open and close, which was a bummer given the views. As others have mentioned, the bed was comically high but very comfortable; However, I would not recommend this unit if you need something ADA-compliant. Also, the kitchen was well setup but none of the cabinets had pull hardware, so getting the doors open was a bit finicky. All that said, I would come back here again.

The road into Shelter Cove is long and challenging

This was one of our best vacations. We were really impressed with the accommodations. Plenty of room, no crowds and very close to the beach for our morning walks. The facility is very well kept and because it is the only property on the block, it feels like you have your own access to the beach. The views of the beach and the ocean are spectacular from any one of the balconies on the house. The inside is beautifully decorated and has all the essentials if you just want to just hang out and do nothing. We had rented the facility for just us two but we could have easily two more family members. The dining room seats 16 and the kitchen appears to have recently been upgraded and has everything you need to cook a meal. The family room has a very nice couch and flat screen, just remember to bring your passwords to watch Netflix, Prime and other streaming channels. Oh did we forget to mention that this place is two story? Yes! On the second floor is this regulation style pool table and a jacuzzi with a full view of the ocean. Next to that room are the sleeping quarters. Two giant bedrooms with full bath (tub/shower). And again balconies to see the ocean and beach. There is not a whole lot to do around area but there are enough areas to walk and enjoy clean community and the wild life that come down from the trees. We saw deer, foxes, rabbits, wild turkeys and vultures. On the beach there are plenty of seals and sea lions that you can hear barking from the distance. And in the far stance you can hear a booey ring and the horn at night. Not annoying just something to zone out to. We have a few meals for dinner at the Venezuelan restaurant called Mi Mochima. Very good food and great customer service. Tory ave to try the grilled chicken and the empanadas. The best. For breakfast ate at the Black Sands Cafe located right on the cliffs. Good food, good service and spectacular views of the ocean and the surroundings.

Everything was perfect

The views were incredible and the room was absolutely beautiful. Lavish. Check-in was super easy and so was check-out. The balcony was my favorite place.
