Great food! Excellent Nepalese curry

A few areas could do with improvement.

I was happy with the food and location. I enjoyed my stay

It was probally me, but I had difficulty understanding the man in reception. English wasn't his first language

The breakfast was great - good choice . The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs

The staff were helpful and pleasant. As were the locals. The Hotel seemed quaintly empty, which in July, was beneficial to us, but should this have been a warning sign?

I have held onto my comments, to calm down a bit. The room had a broken hall light, a broken toilet handle and no kettle.The window could not remain open,no latch. We used a Deodorant Can to hold it open. Although the package was Breakfast and Dinner inclusive we left The Compasses Inn with an extra bills of £140 55, we think for Food on Friday Evening/Saturday Evening and Sunday.(All inclusive ?) We were charged £47.13 on Friday 4th July at 15.26pm for what we don`t know? we had only been in the Hotel for 26 minutes,without eating!This was on top of the booking Charge of £525.00. On a postive note,we don`t appear to been double charged for breakfast! Bonus! When we booked this adventure through Booking.com we tried to find out if we could swap Dinner for Lunch on the Saturday. I rang the Hotel direct and they said I had to speak with Booking.com,so I did. They then told me ,they would speak to the Hotel. I also sent 2 e-mails ,both to Booking.com and The Compasses Inn, and yes you`ve guessed it ,heard nothing back from either. The only contact I received from Booking.com, was to confirm we could book in at 15.00pm,on the Friday. Just in case you think we are tight ar***,we also paid £3.00,£78.48 and £30.95 bar bills over the period Friday 4th July 15.00pm -Monday 7th July 11.00am. Was this a good deal, or have we been fleeced? ?

Really good evening meal, staff were very helpful and there is ample parking. I would say this is a value for money stopover

The only thing that lets this place down are the outside areas, they need some love, care and a clean up,
