Kings Head

The location was brilliant right in the center of Berwick.

Great location and although it's physically connected to the Kings Head pub it was really quiet even when crucial World Cup games were being broadcast. It's the second time I've stayed there and for me it was just perfect. Although breakfast isn't served, you do get a selection of Borders Biscuits along with a kettle, tea and coffee in your room. Of course there's several good cafés within short walking distance who do nice cooked breakfasts. Finally there's a foldaway table and 2 chairs should you wish to stay in your room and enjoy a sandwich and a drink at less cost than dining out.

Not a dislike but apart from the day I arrived I never saw any staff. In fact one day a departing guest wanted to give me his key as he thought I worked there. Admittedly I was out exploring most of the time.

Clean and comfortable, and conveniently situated for exploring the town and catching the train

The shower was poor quality

It was adequate for a one night's stay

When leaving in morning just after 8am there was noone about, keys were left in room. The wifi pass word was not passed to me. Found it on a manager's door on a landing. There was no fulll inreviewformation sheet in place in the room altho a bit of info was found on the back of entry door. Nothing but a vague verbal mention that the shower switch outside bathroom had to be turned on , no hint abt how soon before.
