I chose the place for the locality.

My room was cold and it could do with a little bit more cleaning.

Big clean room. Friendly personal. Large comfortable bag.

The smell in the corridor was a little bit strange.

Place was somewhat clean. Has cable (only in Czech, so not much use). Location is not bad. Since it was a weekend I parked right outside for free (blue zone, free on weekends). Also, don't get put off by messages like "Warning. people who stay in Ceske Budejovice don't stay here!", or "if you don't arrive on time keep looking for a new pension that's 24 hrs". You'll get it when you meet the landlady.

Shower drain clogged, overflowing BAD. Outlets non-operational, except the one for the tv, so you either watch tv or charge your phone. It's cash only, no CC's. Heater non operational. Mattress has seen better days. Also: boooking.com guests get the budget option: ground floor unit, right next to the front door/desk, which, btw, reeks and is constantly on autopilot.

Quiet locality, in a walking distance to train and bus station (20 min) and to the city center. Equipped with kettle, cups, small plates, spoons and forks.

Very small room for two persons, there was only one chair. Shower and toilet need some bleach cleaner.
