Very close to airport, far from city.

Without an open window it's impossible to sleep in summer Besides, mosquitoes are rampant. The property needs serious renovation.

Nothing to like about this hotel.

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in! I couldn’t sleep my first night. It was awful! - My room has mosquitoes and spiders. - No A/C, means no heater during winter and no cooling during summer. - Hotel looks like a haunted house. - Noisy due to next to the train tracks. - Ran out of water at one point. - Area is super scary especially at night. - No restaurants nearby.

We were not expecting much as we essentially chose one of the cheapest options available in Almaty for the selected dates. What we received in reality was far beneath the lowest bar of our expectations as we have never felt the need to forfeit whatever we paid and just had to leave. We arrived in the evening and had difficulties with finding the establishment in the first place as there are no visible signs that we could see. We asked the supermarket beneath the establishment and they pointed us at the right direction. We were welcomed by a lady and we expected and were willing to embrace the evident linguistic barrier present as we have elsewhere. This lady initially sounded like she was scolding us and then proceeded to rub her thumb and index fingers together and said “money money” in an amplified voice. We regretfully paid in full before seeing the room, which is a valuable lesson learnt for future establishments. As soon as she opened the door, to our horror, we saw the state of the room. The bed was covered in a moist woollen blanket and the wallpaper closely resembled an aged version of the shining’s hotel wallpaper. The “money money” lady then proceeded to hand us the bedding of the room and was more than happy to let us make the beds that we paid for. The first thing we did was remove the moist blanket and the state of the mattress and pillows were equally shocking. The covers provided some relief as it visually barred the state of these. The lady then proceeded to leave without giving us a key to our room. Just when we thought that the room could not get any worse, we were unfortunately mistaken as we proceeded to open the door to the bathroom. Sweet lord jesus, how is this possible (see picture attached). The floor was covered in mould, the bathroom door would not shut, the hand soap provided was watered down citric soap, and the cherry on the expired cake: the water smelled funny.

The weirdest property I’ve ever stayed in. Arrived at 7pm and got shouted at because the check in was 12-6pm, then had the owner sat permanently at a desk outside my room, staring every time I entered and left. The ‘hotel’ is in a weird location and has the feel of more of a brothel than a hotel. Only needed to use the hotel for a few hours of sleep before a flight at 3am, but wish I’d have stayed elsewhere.
