A typical country pub, great food freshly prepared to order and a good selection of drinks. It was quiet at night and we had a nice room overlooking the garden.

Very welcoming owners. Warm, spacious well fitted out room. Great ‘home-made’ food. Nice atmosphere in the pub area. Close proximity to Totnes, Dartmouth and the surrounding area.

The location access was quite awkward, due to narrow roads.

Ideal for anyone wanting to experience a getaway in a traditional Devon pub, set in an authentic Devon village. Cornworthy is within 20 minutes drive to Totnes and numerous sightseeing opportunities available there. Closer still is the hamlet of Dittisham set alongside the impressive River Dart estuary. The pub retains much of it's original charm alongside contemporary furnishings and decor. Your hosts, Sue and Graham manage everything to ensure a pleasant stay and offer a range of meals to suit all tastes and diets. For accommodation we had a bright sunny room with an extremely comfortable bed, ensuite. There's also a communal sitting room if needed. The pub can get very busy, particularly at the weekend, so we recommend booking a table in advance if you eat in on your day of arrival. There's a good food menu and additionally, some exceptional 'lite bites' on the blackboard. Prices may change according to daily variation in cost of some ingredients such as, fresh caught monk fish or prawns...both of which we recommend. Hill walkers and serious 'countryphiles' will love this location.

Breakfast was excellent. We didn't have a cooked breakfast, but if we had wanted one the choice was very good. The most surprising thing was discovering that the owners, Grahame and Sue, used to run our local pub in West Yorkshire. We had no idea that they ran The Hunters Lodge!

It's hard to think of anything.

This was such a lovely inn to stay, I did not want to leave!! The village is beautiful with surrounding walks in the countryside. It is close to other villages and towns to visit in South Devon. The hosts were absolutely wonderful, friendly and made you feel welcome. We had a cooked breakfast and dined in the evenings. The food was divine!

Impressed with the fresh milk & delicious biscuits in the room. Great fresh cooked breakfast & delicious evening meals in the bar.

Very friendly hosts Sue’s cooking is fantastic-best breakfast we’ve had by far. Plus the steak pie was delicious Nice touches-fresh milk in fridge. Bottled water provided and a whole packet of biscuits!!!

Only slight downside is the narrow lanes, mainly because we have a camper van size vehicle-we followed the sat nav but Graham advised a better route so might be advisable to contact the property to get direction advice

Breakfast was excellent, well cooked and tasty.
