Chongos Place

Amazing view of the volcano, well equipped self sufficient cabin with kitchen, clean and thoughtful room, coffee included, kind staff, tv has streaming services included, all comforts like hot water, AC, and wifi work well.

Gravel road to get to the hotel is a little bumpy and uber drivers have a difficult time finding the place - you have to tell them to turn right after the mini super. Lack of cellphone signal.

We had a great start of our trip in la Fortuna kn Chongos Place! Its perfect located for many activities and has a nice pool and only 4 rooms, so its cozy. We had an amazing view to the vulcan and the room offers everything you need (also in the kitchen!) Would definitely come back!

Staying at Chongos Place was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica! Each of the 3 bungalows is a perfect little getaway, our favourite part being the personal patio with an amazing view of Volcán Arenal (the photos don't lie). On one of the days it was pouring rain and there was nothing we could do in La Fortuna, so we couldn't have planned it any better than to watch the downpour pass us by from our covered porch. We suggest getting Cabin 1 if you can, which is right in front of the swimming pool not to mention the perfect view :) Diana, Jennifer and their family were so friendly and accommodating, and the place itself was clean and comfortable, no complaints. Finally, just down the road (2 minutes away) was Soda Tita Rosa with the best food you could ask for at bargain prices, so you're all set for your time in La Fortuna!

On our trip, we were getting used to some really well stocked & equipped (usually shared) kitchens, so the basic one in the room wasn't the most functional. That being said, the owners were very responsive, I messaged them to borrow a few pantry items and they kindly delivered!
