Posada Sierra de la Culebra

We hate writing negative reviews but this is such a difficult one to write. The whole place is designed to a very high standard. If you have your own transport that is great but for Pilgrims it was impossible. We were on the Camino Via de Plata. Olga the owner was amazing and so helpful including her husband taking us to the town in order to get a meal. That was really generous and we are so grateful.

The apartments were beautifully designed but so cold. The walls are paper thin and there is nowhere to relax. It was made clear that we were not to use the dining area. But our room was too small to sit. You could not prepare any food or do any washing or drying of clothes. The tiny village is really quiet but there is nothing for miles around. There is a small bar down the road but no food available. The small Coviran Supermarket is just a few steps away but limited offer and it only opens at odd times, so once again for Pilgrims impossible. We were lucky that the local baker had fresh Croissants to supplement our breakfast. Sadly breakfast was just packaged bread and cake. Not enough to sustain a long day. If the summer if the weather was warm and sunny you could enjoy the pool and hot tub. So sorry but we are being honest. If you have transport yes if you don't NO.

Olga was really warm and friendly and she arranged for us to have dinner 5 minutes' drive away in Litos. People in the village were also very welcoming. This is a great location for exploring the Sierra, and very well-heated and comfortable. On the way there we saw two wolves crossing the road in front of us.

Beautifully designed property, outdoor storage space for bicycles, nice hostess, cozy room, quiet neighbourhood

We are a group travelling on bikes from Seville to Santiago de Compostela. They graciously accommodated our bikes. The bedrooms were spacious, comfortable and clean. After a long day on the bikes a plunge in the pool was very welcomed.

Everything was absolutely perfect. Immaculately clean, high quality and beautiful.

The Posada has been well thought out. There’s the pool, a small garden, a veranda with a barbecue all within a safe walled area. The facilities are new there are a lot of personal touches by Olga, the owner. You’re also made very welcome.

Very nice inside and out with a swimming pool and breakfast. The bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious and clean. The host was lovely and made us feel very welcome. Just a short walk to the local bar
