Jungle Soul

Very cosy place, good restaurant on the roof, lovely people working and owning this place. Turtle beach 5 minutes walking. Monkeys live nearby so you could watch them from the balcony and restaurant. Cool Russian chef at the restaurant. Very tasty food, especially shrimp burger, tuna and octopus!

-Best breakfasts we had in a hotel in Sri Lanka -Comfortable and nicely furnished rooms -Nice common areas (restaurant on the rooftop and a small terrace on the first floor) to chill out/read books at the evening -Staff is doing their best to make you feel comfortable (ie we were reading books at night in the common area, the staff member noticed us and brought anti-mosquito candles just for us) -It’s not directly by the beach or in the centre (still within walking distance though), making it more cozy and calm than rest of Mirissa

-Not much common green area to rest at -They organise some nice evening events (ie Quizes or Karaokes, but they are in Russian language only). It would be nice if there were some other events organised for the international community too (ie in English)

The most delicious breakfasts on the whole island. After the first night, we asked to be moved to the 2nd floor. The room is spacious, lots of space, has a balcony and a view of the trees. Every day we saw monkeys)

Ambiance of the property was good. Owner was friendly. Had a roof top cafe but overpriced

No hot water. The staff was not responding at all. They kept saying to wait until the owner comes. We waited for 2hrs for hotwater. Owner came and said hotwater is not working since it was cold climate .But he gave a discount becoz of the hotwater issue

I enjoyed the jungle feeling of the place. It felt peaceful and tranquil

I did not like the bottom room we stayed in. It was dark and felt very damp inside. Our room was right where reception worked. I would’ve liked a bit more privacy. My husband on the other hand absolutely loved the accommodation and he would go back anytime.

Beautiful airconditioned room with a nice bed. Also the breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was very nice!

The rooftop restaurant is really nice but they play loud techno music early in the morning what just annoyed. It’s a peaceful place but that music!

The food is not good. They serve unhealthy things it would be much better if they serve healthy food.

We liked the Jungle theme of the hotel, the friendly staff and eye to details in the room. everything was clean and modern, with aircon and a balcony (family room for 2 people) Also the location is close to coconut tree hill and the beach. We could also extend our stay and keeping the same room. thanks for that! it was a very pleasant stay!

For breakfast you have some options to choose from, which is very nice, but the food quality is not that great. However, thats personal i guess :) and also a surprise was the night guard, an elderly man who watches the property and he gave us bananas which we didn’t ask for. we thought that this was out of generosity, because we tried talking to him. But in the end he was asking for a tip in a demanding way. This gave us an unpleasant feeling.
