Lovely homestay

A bit higher up the mountain, but it was durable!

De kamer heeft een mooi uitzicht en het is met afstand ons goedkoopste verblijf geweest in Sri Lanka. Daarnaast is er maar eerdere reviews geluisterd (klachten over de kou) door extra dekens meer te leggen. De eigenaar was wel zeer behulpzaam. Hij heeft bij aankomst een taxi voor ons geregeld van het station naar het hotel en bij vertrek konden we onze koffers achterlaten en is hij ons persoonlijk bij een ontbijt tentje in het centrum op komen halen met onze koffers in de auto.

Omdat we in redelijk tot goede hotels hebben geslapen viel dit verblijf ons qua comfort tegen. Er was geen goed Engels sprekend personeel aanwezig (de taxi chauffeur heeft ons geholpen), de badkamer was niet goed schoongemaakt, we hadden geen warm water (daar hadden we blijkbaar uitleg over moeten hebben gekregen), er was geen kluisje aanwezig en de deur was van glas waardoor er licht de kamer in kwam uit de hal en er een soort doorkijk was, wel door geribbeld glas.

The most comfortable stay in Sri Lanka the bed was insane! The room we booked was beautiful and more stunning than hotels in the UK! The family was so lovely and accommodating- tea and ginger biscuits on arrival too. Slippers and towels in the room Breakfast was extra cost, big selection and really tasty. Plenty of duvets & blankets for the evening because it does get chilly at night. Room has kettle and tea, coffee, water. We didn’t venture out in the evening to the nearest town/shops or surroundings but I think it was a bit of a way? It is very high up the road! This gives amazing views. Spotlessly clean! I’m not sure if you could have dinner at the property? I’m sure owners could advise if needed.

El personal es muy amable y la habitación era espaciosa.

En la habitación entra mucho el frío y la humedad, no está bien aislada. El desayuno muy caro (8$ por persona) para lo que es y estaba todo frío. No tienen café. Fue complicado llegar al alojamiento con el coche, el camino muy estrecho y nada cómodo. Sentimos mucho el comentario porque el personal fue encantador, pero no estuvimos muy a gusto… tampoco pudimos pagar con tarjeta, solo rupias.

Nice stay and very clean. We had a tour with Chaami, a family member of the owner, that really made our stay. Breakfast was also really great. Location was a bit far from the centre but that made it quite en peaceful.

We had a really good stay here. The lodge was very comfortable with stylish equipment and super clean bathwears. Everything felt well maintained and cozy. Definitely recommend!
