Prince John Beachfront Eco Bungalows and Restaurant

The bungalows were amazing and the place was so calm and tranquil. When described as eco, that is because it is, its off grid and power is solar. Although high powered devices like hair dryers are not suitable, it's nice to get back to basics and just relax. We took a kayak to nearby island and walked to a beatiful waterfall for a swim. John arranged transport, food was good, especially the bbq. Strongly recommend.

Prices are a little higher than Port Barton but is worth the little extra

Calm

Warning – Bed Bugs A few days after checking in, I developed very itchy and painful bites on my back, arms, and legs. A pharmacy in Port Barton confirmed that the rash was consistent with bed bug bites, and I needed medication, including cortisone cream. When we showed the bites to the staff, we were immediately offered a room change. In my opinion, this confirms that there was a problem in the original room – or at least an attempt to keep us quiet so that other guests would not become concerned. At checkout, we also noticed that newly arrived guests were given the same bungalow without any visible action having been taken. This is a serious hygiene issue that requires professional treatment and sanitation. Upon closer inspection of the bed, we also found a large number of small black ants in the bed panel. While unpleasant, ants do not cause bite marks and do not come into the bed the way bed bugs do. There is clear photographic evidence showing that I had no bites or rash upon arrival at the resort. The bites first appeared about three days into our stay, and no new bites occurred after we moved to a different accommodation. We unfortunately have previous experience with bed bugs from a trip to Italy about ten years ago, so we know exactly what they look like and how they behave – as well as how difficult and costly they are to get rid of. The problems they cause can be extensive. (Feel free to search online about bed bugs and compare with my photos.) Unfortunately, the hotel management seemed completely indifferent to the issue. Whether they are aware of the problem or simply unwilling to acknowledge it is unclear. Photos are available showing which bungalow was affected. The bites appear in areas where the body has been in contact with the bed sheets and cause severe itching and discomfort that can last up to two weeks. I strongly recommend caution before booking this property

Très jolie vue, hôtel donnant sur la plage. Idéal si on aime être en communion avec la nature avec le minimum de confort. Personnel très gentil. Possibilité de louer des kayaks.

Le coté tiroir caisse du patron est juste insupportable. Exemple, on vous accueille en vous demandant ce que vous souhaitez boire tout en vous présentant l’hôtel et le verre de bienvenue vous est in fine facturé. Hôtel isolé de Port Barton avec une route épouvantable pour y accéder. Deux jours sont suffisants.

An idyllic spot with a laid-back beach vibe, set right in the middle of nature. The property is spacious and the kids loved swinging on the ropes. There are plenty of different seating areas, and the atmosphere gives you that wonderful “deserted island” feeling. There are activities like SUP boards available, and we took a fun quad tour to nearby waterfalls. It’s the kind of place where you truly get that Palawan feeling. Don’t expect the comforts of a city hotel — for example, there’s no air conditioning. But in return, you can shower outside under a banana tree, and if you get up at night to go to the bathroom, you’ll see the stars above you. It’s an “outdoor house” kind of stay. We were perfectly happy entertaining ourselves, but if you need constant activities or organized entertainment, this might not be the place for you. Here, it’s all about doing nothing and experiencing island life. There’s a wide choice of food with large portions, and the staff really try their best. John has created a beautiful place where you can truly unwind. Just be mindful of jellyfish in the waters in front of the resort.

Es un sitio para desconectar. No puedes jr al pueblo porque está alejado, pero es ideal si quieres desconectar. Las habitaciones dan al mar y ellos organizan todo. Ten en cuenta que tendras que comprar todo dentro de alli, porque no hay supermercado ni nada
