Gaja Go Dive & Inn

Location was good down a quiet road but close enough to walk to cafes and restaurants. Staff were pleasant. Think we got unlucky with our stay.

I believe we were the first to stay here and it showed. We booked a twin room going by the pictures but arrived and the rooms were still under construction. We were given a very basic room directly underneath the construction which started at 7.30 one of the mornings. The room had transparent blinds and we had to hang our towels over them to give us privacy. Staff were rarely as the desk when we had questions so we texted/called them via whatsapp when we encountered issues. The water stopped working 3 or 4 times in the first 24hrs, we told the staff and they fixed it each time. Bit inconvenient but they did fix it in the end. We stayed for 4 nights (booked for 5 but left early) and we didn't get any service during our stay, our bins weren't emptied, we had to ask for extra toilet paper and towels.

The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable and the staff was nice! Great location close to everything, no need for a scooter or tuktuk.

The room did not match the photos on Booking, not at all. Bathroom was unclean and had a strange smell, so bad I could not sleep well. Some screws (?) were poking off the floor in multiple places. Floor was uneven and unstable. Door was shaky.

~ Great value for money. ~ Large spacious room, with a view of the ocean from the balcony. ~ Hot water shower. Comfy bed. Fridge. Kettle. ~ Excellent location (two mins walk to main section but quiet at night). Also close to an entry point to see the sardines. ~ Lovely staff.

~ Floor is a little uneven in places and needs maintenance.

Gd strong hot shower, new toilet bowl cover, efficient air-conditioner, clean hard mattress (one queen and one king bed I think). There was sufficient drying space on a big foldable wooden rack on the level 2 walkway. We felt safe that the level reception was always alert about people walking on the street—anyone could access the external stairs to our level two wooden door, technically speaking. Appreciate the staff being on guard as we have young children with us. Staff was also friendly and showed us the quiet path to beach access.

The wooden door lock was simple and worked fine. Both door lock and wooden floor be better maintained though. The fridge didn’t work but we didn’t need to use it anyway. Generally we were satisfied with the room based on the price we paid.
