Glenarroch & Witchwood

Fantastic location and great to be able to use the restaurant next door which had excellent food at reasonable prices. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

Its in a great location. Close to the sea. The breakfast provided from the restaurant was good. The restaurent staff was very friendly and extremely helpful.

Not sure why or how the call themselves a 3/4 star hotel. All together its a mix of a hostel, shared rooms and ensuite rooms spread over 3 large buildings, with a pub / restaurent in the middle one. The rooms are of decent size, but thats it. The carpet in the room was dirty, muddy and old. The beds were really uncomfortable. The bedding provided was hard cotton, reminded me of hospital bedding. The rooms provided were by the side of the restaurant kitchen, so was noisy for the entire night. There were lights on the outside pointing to the window, so it was never dark inside. The windows didnt have a proper curtain (just had blinds, which didnt help much) There is no dedicated parking, you will b asked to park anywhere in the street. The reception is 2 buildings away, and the staff would not even speak to u before the checkin time (4 pm). Breakfast offered is not an unlimited buffet style, but a restaurant order. And the cost for the rooms is simply not reasonable for the state of affairs and service provided. The tv in the room was an old 22 inch screen. Mobile phones, if u hold close seems bigger than that.
