Enjoyed my stay

I like that it was a quiet neighborhood. I felt generally safe even when walking from a far away parking spot. I liked that the refrigerator/freezer was a decent size and separate compartments. I like that they provided different types of hangers to accommodate for pants, hooking clothes and at least one felt, to accommodate loose topped clothing.

Located directly in the path of airplane overflight... You will constantly hear aircraft all times of day. They did provide foam plugs, but we opted not to use them. Woodwork over the bedding area felt sketchy, was worried if any hidden cameras could have been contained, considering the ply board had continuous cracks between boards. Resolve is to caulk cracks shut. They provided dishes and silverware, but the utensils were insanely large, the spoon was more like a serving spoon. The dish soap and opened sponge were located under the bathroom sink... I would dare not use it to wash and I surely hope it wasn't used on the dishes prior to our use. Resolve is to store the dish soap in the kitchenette with a NEW (even cut in half to save on costs), this way the tenant feels more assured the sponge was not previously used in the bathroom instead, yikes. Bath mat at first seemed as if it was yellow and moldy, but at a closer glance it was just the design. Resolve... Change to single color mat. Some other tenants may have misunderstood locking instructions of the second entrance (the main entrance to 3-plex), and at least 3 times during the stay it was left ajar, but there is a locked gate at the bottom, so it was somewhat secure. The mini ironing board provided was too small and one of the legs never stayed put, allowing the board to tilt to surface level, making it difficult to maneuver the clothing around the tip. Resolve... Get a full size board, there's room to stand it up in the closet They privacy wrapped the bathroom window, but left a few lines clear.... Afraid of any peeping Toms would peep. Resolve provide a curtain, or redo the privacy screen to consistently cover the window. The check out directions said to bring our trash to the outside bin, but they were locked shut, so we placed them on the ground beside the bin. Parking is free FCFS parking...one night we arrived after 10pm on a weeknight and had to park 4 blocks away.

I liked the spacious room and cleanliness.

The window blinds are damaged. There is a small stain on the wall by the window.

The property has a good view of the port and is walking distance from many great restaurants.

Parking is hard to find if you aren’t back early, but that has nothing to do with the property and walking isn’t really a problem.

The location was really good, it was definitely a game change to our vacation. There’s a case of stair s to get to the room but it wasn’t hard to bring up the luggage. We were concerned about the airplane noise but once in the room, with windows closed and bathroom door closed the noise wasn’t as disturbing as past reviews we read. The bathroom was very nice size, water pressure is not that strong but it worked. The soap could be better quality but it did the job, I would recommend bringing your own if you prefer bar soaps, it’s something we forgot to bring and it was fortunate that they at least provided a liquid one. The “kitchen” is limited but we could make it work. When we arrived we were concerned with the heat, it gets very hot in the room but we turned on the AC and with the host help we were able to get the room to a comfortable temperature. I would recommend this property for other travelers, mostly because of what it’s offered for the price. The location is great, we felt safe and we had no trouble finding parking on the same street. We were really concerned with cockroaches and bedbugs as it seems to be an issue with a lot of properties in San Diego but this one had us completely comfortable and it was quite clean!

The only issue we had was with the mattress, it seems to have sunk in the middle which can make it quite uncomfortable. This is the only reason why I would consider staying somewhere else if we visit San Diego again.

The best thing about this place is the location - within close walking distance of Balboa park and the downtown. Yes you do have some low flying aircraft noise but didn't bother me. The rooms are quite basic but the ac and fridge work and the bathroom is spacious so met my requirements. I had issues getting in with the code (main and room access) but the service is responsive via booking.com messaging.

There was a coffee machine but no instructions, would have been a nice touch if some coffee was provided. There is a flight of stairs to go up so be aware if you have heavy luggage.

Unreliable internet. I told the host and they shrugged it off, and provided poor customer service. Then they ask me to give them a good rating. 😅 if I had known about the shortages before hand, I would have been able to accomodate it. It is 2025, internet is a basic necessity! The housekeeping also was unreliable. And the red pillows had a weird smell.

I like the property's location, but it might not be ideal if you're afraid of planes – they do fly pretty low overhead!

Bed was really comfortable!
