The Fox and Hounds Country Inn

Lovely peaceful location very convenient for exploring the local area away from the bustle of Helmsley. Also convenient for day trips to the coast. We were visiting the Ryedale Show so it was an excellent location for that. Very well equipped nicely decorated room and bathroom, food of a high standard and very accommodating, friendly and helpful staff. We would definitely stay here again when visiting North Yorkshire.

Beautiful little place, staff couldn’t do enough for you. Defiantly recommend staying for dinner it was amazing!!!

Bit in the middle of nowhere, but if this is what you are looking for kinda perfect

The decor is fantastic. Good range of facilities and the rooms blend into the public areas really well.

The bathroom would benefit from one or two hooks for clothes etc.

Staff were very attentive and polite. The evening meal was of high quality and particularly enjoyed the lamb which was exceptional and breakfast was served to perfection and piping hot. A Nice dinging room, a choice of bars or lounge to enjoy a drink. Ample parking and a beer garden that we were unable to use Due to the weather.

Overall room was a tad on the small side with a window that rattled when heavy traffic went past, which I fixed by jamming a tea bag in the gap to absorb the rattle on the window. The shower cubicle easily leaked whichever way we chose to close the door.

Excellent location & food was amazing staff very helpful in every way

The shower was blocked, so I couldn't have a shower for more than 2mins .Alerted staff on the first night we used the shower was still the same the next morning that was the only thing everything else was excellent

Peaceful location in a very small but pretty village. Staff were v friendly and attentive. We upgraded to a larger room and ensuite which was more expensive but worth the difference in price. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Nice little extras like bottled water in the bedroom and good range of coffee/tea making supplies. Plenty of private parking on site. Comfy beds.
