Rensburg, on the outskirts of Heidelberg, is a quiet and modest suburb. The Shack Life is located at the edge of the suburb which lends it a certain country feel. It is an example of just how much can be done with very little space. The structure, decorations and furnishings are authentic to the mood it intends to create. The little outdoor space is relatively secluded and was enjoyed. The landlord was very hospitable, and attentive to our needs, and made sure we had all we needed to have a pleasant braai, and enjoy some acoustic guitar and folk songs around the fire. The fridge kept everything nice and cold. With so few trains left in the country, it was a joy to hear a train rumbling past, unseen, on the other side of the bushes.

The shower did not drain well and water overflowed onto the bathroom floor. The landlord immediately plunged the drain and there was a noticeable improvement. There are many flies in the area, possibly consider to place some fly traps, or sticky fly strips, to reduce them.
