GBSergio's tours (both morning and night boat) were the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. Similar wildlife tours in Monteverde and Manuel Antonio have not come close in terms of guide quality. He is clearly very passionate about the wildlife. Gloria's breakfasts left a similar impression! We will miss her traditional breakfasts which while common in style in the other areas we have visited, were not replicated in quality! This was a lovely family host experience and we look forward to coming back one day. Pura vida :)

Nous avons manqué un peu de confort, le temps pluvieux et humide n’a pas aidé (manque de quoi étendre les vêtements. Eau froide pour la douche, terre battue autour du logement qui tourne vite en boue avec la pluie…) Le logement n’est pas dans le village de Tortugero, il faut prendre un petit bateau pendant 15 min pour rejoindre le village)

BEOur stay at this lodge was the highlight of our trip to Tortuguero. Owners Gloria and Sergio are incredibly welcoming and make you feel right at home. The facilities are charming and cosy, but the real star is the location—peacefully tucked away right on the riverbank. We highly recommend the morning boat tour through the National Park with Sergio. He is an EXCELLENT guide with a keen eye for spotting wildlife; he showed us a fantastic variety of birds and animals we never would have seen on our own. Logistics note: The cabanas are in a quiet village just north of the main Tortuguero hub. Sergio provides boat transfers at a very reasonable price, turning even the commute into a mini-safari by stopping whenever he spots wildlife along the way!
The only drawback is a nearby restaurant that plays loud music during the day, though this is clearly beyond the owners' control and didn't dampen our overall experience. We highly recommend this gem!
NLEen leuk rustig plekje waar de familie er alles aan doet om het comfortabel te maken.
De douche komt niet heel veel water uit. En de muziek bijna naast je kamer tot heel laat in de nacht, maar daar kunnen ze weinig aan doen.
