The Emerald Iguana Inn

The property was exactly as advertised and the beds were comfortable. For a residential area it was very quiet.

The property is gorgeous and our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. I was very impressed and would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends. The acorn room was so peaceful and beautiful.

Bathroom was small with no sink. Vanity separate on other side of the room.

Location was great as we could walk into the main part of Ojai where all the restaurants and shops are. There is also a nice convenient grocery store. The Green Iguana Inn is nestled into the side of the woods and at the end of the street. It is like cottages everywhere and a small pool. Very green and lush the vegetation in and around. One could hear the birds and it was peaceful. We stayed in the studio above the front office. Called the Treehouse though not really sure why it was called that as it wasn't in the tree. King size bed was very comfortable. The claw foot bathtub was amazing though I did not use it. Shower was perfectly sized that two people could shower. The tile in the bathroom was beautiful and there were plenty of small windows to open if you want to have more air in there. No one can see in.

Check in was convenient and the room was ready just as we got there. One problem was the room smelled very strongly of chlorine bleach. It was pretty heavy that I had to open all the windows in the bathroom and living room. It smelled like the bleach was not diluted at all. 1 tablespoon for 1 gallon of water does not leave that heavy of a smell and still sanitizes the bathtub and sinks. They shouldn't use such toxic cleaners anyway. The porch light by the entry door was so bright that ambient light came into the room all night in spite of the blinds being closed. Just seeped in through the gap around the exterior of the blinds. I was unable to figure out the light switches so I couldn't turn it off. Thus making my night of sleep not great. When checking in the attendant should point that out as it is something others had mentioned per the conversation I had with the check in person in the office when I mentioned it. Though she apologized, it wasn't a good apology as she mentioned other people like the light and the "switch is right there". As if I was the one too stupid to find the switch which should have been shown to us when we first entered. The other problem is the arched windows above the living room windows have no blinds or cover so light from the parking area and front office came into the room. Every time a car came in, those headlights also shined in the room on the ceiling making the room too bright. One of the windows closer to the door was broken so after we opened to clear out the chlorine smell, we could not close it all the way and thus after 10:30 people coming back could be heard talking so clearly that I continued to be awoken. For what I paid for a little getaway for my husband for father's day, the least we should have had was a good nights sleep. And for what we paid, there should have been a breakfast but no information that alluded to that.

Location was very convenient to walk to downtown. Grounds were beautiful, Room and patio we're very private. Peaceful stay!

Earlier check in time to enjoy pool area. Breakfast was ok but convienent.
