Mountain Home Inn

The location is so close to Muir Woods and we loved that. There are nice views of the San Fran valley off in the distance. It was very quiet and peaceful.

The property billed itself as a bed and breakfast which usually implies a hot breakfast - this had a continental breakfast, which was good but no service. There was no ac and it was a bit hot. There were 2 fans which helped and it cooled off. I tried twice to reach out to this place to find out about dinner and never received a response back. The did have sandwiches and quiche which they warmed up - the did not have a cook staff. That was disappointing.

Beautiful location.

Room was over priced and not well maintained. Paid for a jacuzzi but it didn’t work- brown water, didn’t hold water, spat out globs of hair when turned on. It is also unfortunate that the restaurant is gone because once you are at the location it ruins the mood to have to drive an hour round trip to get dinner.

Personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Kamer is zeer goed. Ontbijt is geweldig. Uitzicht is erg mooi.

Staff were exceptional especially the night desk clerk. Rooms and view lovely. Comfortable bed. Great location for hiking trails

Breakfast not really upscale for the property level. Bread and packaged bagels and croissants. Yogurt, some cut up fruit and heat yourself quiche. Some fresh bakery level pastries and fruit and cheese varieties with charcuterie would be more in keeping with the price point. Some sound leak from room above but everyone settles down by 9:30-10

Property is rundown and needs some maintenance and refresh work. For example, our bedroom had portions of the ceiling that had been patched/spackled but not painted, the doors to the bathroom needed to repainted or deeply cleaned, the door stop in the bathroom was disintegrating and taped together with a bandaid. I was expecting a much higher attention to these room details for the high price point. The bathrooms similarly had pieces of the wall with patching they hadn't bothered sanding and areas of mildew. The bathroom looks like it's from the early 90s. The staff were frazzled. At any point, it seemed like there was only one person working who was in charge of check-in, bar, etc. Noise is pretty loud from the hallway to the room due to the hardwood floors.

The breakfast was wonderful, and Susan was delightful. All the staff was so welcoming and gracious. Room 4 was small but we had a patio which was great. I will be back

Nothing, everything was great. It’s a historic Inn, recent remodel very nice in lobby. Rooms pretty much the same as many years ago but part of the charm

Loved the quite relaxed atmosphere. The wood fireplace was amazing.
