"Overall, it was a nice stay."

7.0

Convenient location close to family. The carvery was lovely.

Given the size of the room and the positions of the beds, there was a lack of power sources available in convenient locations.

"Warm welcome and amazing value."

I booked in to be near to the hospital and forgot it was Mothering Sunday. The whole place was very busy with diners and families have a lovely lunch. But the young man who checked me in was not flustered by the volume of people and was most kind and helpful. I was checked into my room which was outside of the building up some metal steps. The room itself was small but very warm, clean and comfortable. The young man managed to get me a table for a quick bite to eat even though it was busy. My food did take twenty minutes but it was worth the wait, chef had prepared and presented my plate beautifully. When I returned later in the evening I was greeted by friendly bar staff who prepared drinks in a very professional manner. Your staff are a credit to your business, your food is tasty , of good quality and well presented. Breakfast which was included was incredible, Eggs Royale was of very high quality and the poached eggs were cooked to perfection. I wanted to book a second night but they were full. I am now in another local hotel which has a higher star rating but it does not feel as welcoming as The Victoria Inn!

Walking past the cooking vents to get to my room Tissues in the room would be a bonus . Chipped mug at breakfast. Far more positives than negatives .

"Nice location, lacking experienced staff -definitely need an experienced manager to manage the staff and running"

4.0

It’s a good location and the rooms were clean.

We booked on booking.com for 4x guests in a family room (2 dble beds). When I booked it only stated 2 guests so I messaged the accommodation to let them know for breakfast reasons there would be 4 of us. They said to change the booking via booking.com but it said I couldn’t and I had to contact the venue direct which I did by further messsges and a phone call. When we arrived they only had 2 of us down to stay. I explained what had happened and showed them all the messages of them clearly being told and replying to me. The staff were all really young and tried to be polite (kind of) but not the best service and suggested we may need to pay more, but then told we wouldn’t need to. They made a note for breakfast there would be 4 of us but when we arrived for breakfast in the morning it was set for x2 not x4 people! No communication at all. Breakfast was big, but we waited 50mins for it and it came out over done and not overly hot. There was only 4 other guests there so not busy-I dread to think what it’s like when busy. It’s a shame, they definitely need an experienced manager to run the place. Also very random but note to the owner-in the room the mirror needs to be over the dressing table not the tv. The mirror was on the side wall next to the bed so you can’t dry your hair or do make up. We had to sit on the bed to see it

"The stay was fine and the meals were exceptional. The staff were all polite and very welcoming."

7.0

The room was fine and the bathroom excellent. The only drawback was the metal steps up to the accomodation. (I am slightly disabled and walk with a stick) It was therefore very hard for me to use the steps, especially downwards. Other than that, the meals were excellent and very filling. (We had three lovely meals there meeting our family members over the two days)

The stairs up to the accomodation. Very hard to manouvre, being slightly disabled.
