Great location for us visiting RSPB Geltsdale at the end of the road. Lovely staff and a fabulous breakfast in the morning. Wholeheartedly recommended.

Bit of noise from room next door

This was perfectly situated to explore Hadrian's Wall, The Roman Army Museum, and Vindolanda. The staff were very hospitable, and the food was delicious (we ate dinner at the pub as well as breakfast the next morning). Parking was easy on the lane outside.

The room was very compact, and as a side sleeper the bed mattress was a bit too firm for me.

Bijzonder vriendelijk, aardig en hulpvaardig personeel. Heel gastvrije en warme sfeer. Op zaterdag avond (ik begreep elke 3e zaterdag van de maand) was er een muziekgroepje met gitaren, een banjo en ukelele die - zonder versterking - om de beurt een nummer speelden en zongen. Heel leuk om mee te maken. Zowel het diner (keuze uit pub-food) als ontbijt waren prima.

Lovely older property

Not enough plug sockets, I don’t like extension leads in my house so was surprised to see them in the room . Only one chair ( although it was comfortable ) And the best one. In the bath room the shaver socket ( which is used fir charging tooth brushes as well these days ) was very high up so we had to put the toothbrush charger on top of the light, a shelf would be a good idea perhaps.
