"Underwhelming"

Good selection of items at breakfast. Hotel location - straight road into Dulmen about 20 minutes walk away. Some very pleasant bar staff. Comfy beds.

Staff (owner?) at the reception not very welcoming. Very anxious to charge our card or take cash immediately. We asked if the room was ready and were told that we could go and check ourselves. No assistance offered to carry our bag, there is no lift and we were on the second floor. Did not realise until check in that there is no breakfast served on Mondays. There has obviously been plenty of money spent on the restaurant area but the accommodation is nothing special and we thought overpriced generally. Restaurant area is lovely. We were appalled to see the salad bar items left uncovered between lunchtime service and evening meals. Accordingly we took ourselves to a lovely "schnelle imbiss" about five minutes walk away instead!
