The location was handy for our travelling.The pub was quiet by 8.30 so we were able to get to sleep fairly easily. Heidi and the staff were very warm and welcoming and we really enjoyed the fish and chips for dinner. The rooms were neat, tidy and spacious.

We didn't end up staying for breakfast as the milk and butter we put in the fridge overnight, unfortunately got mistaken for communial usage. Decided to go to a local town for Mother's Day breakfast instead. I had to change rooms on arrival as there was no PowerPoints working so no heating or electric blankets. They were very accomodating though and let me move to another room. In regards to the extra cost of our own bathroom, we ended up using the communal bathroom as the water would not go down the vanity sink, also the water pressure in the shower was so low that I chose not to wash my hair. We were very grateful to find a last minute stay, however I do not think we would stay here again.

The location was perfect since it was near family and a beautiful spot and on the way to a family re-union. The building itself was beautiful externally with lovely verandas. The lady who met us and answered phone was lovely (Heidi I think). The decor chosen inside is quite nice and is a beautiful old building with lots of charm. We have also eaten lunch here several times before and the food was quite good.

I feel bad even writing this because the people were very nice - but the sheets looked dirty on 2 of the beds. By the time we went to crawl into bed at midnight (after an 8 hour drive) it was too late to do anything about it (ring\change rooms). My kids were exhausted (and myself) so we just put the heater on low rugged up. The shared kitchen and bathrooms were not super clean either. Maybe just one bad experience and unlucky by us - cause lots of other reviews are great! All the rooms looked very nice so was very disappointed.

The old pub had a lot of character, sitting on the upstairs verandah and watching the sun set was truly memorable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was large and clean with a comfy bed and AC and dinner at the bistro was very good and reasonable. Plenty of food to choose from for breakfast and good cooking facilities if you wanted to bring your own food to cook for breakfast lunch or dinner.

Being a pub and being upstairs above the bar, there is some noise to put up with even with the window closed and the AC on. In all fairness, It was a Friday night, and closing time is late. What made it worse, was some other guests arrived quite late like after midnight and it was very noisy to the point where I got up, had to tell them to be quiet. I think they felt there was no one else staying there! The shared bathroom is adequate but in keeping with the age of the pub.

The balcony was magnificent.
