Karibu Inn

The location is ideal, close to numerous restaurants and a street food market, and the gentleman at the reception desk was exceptionally kind and professional.

The room had a small window overlooking a brick wall. The room had a bad smell, and the bathroom, with its laminate roof and small window, was excessively hot. The bed was uncomfortable, the sheets unclean, and the room noisy. the breakfast was not that great

Our plane arrived at 3 am. We took a taxi here from the airport and slept a couple hours before we left further.

It was good that the taxi driver showed us properly where to go, the door was a little scary at night. But ok.

Location

Dark lobby and hallways. Stained tiles in toilets.

Very nice location, close to harbour and Forodhani market. Basic and simple - good for low budget travellers. They have a proper value storing in the reception.

Aircon made a lot of noise and bathroom a bit old. But you get what you pay for. The place is clean.

Mosquito nets for all beds, comfortable stay in central location. Breakfast provided. Air conditioning/fans in the rooms.

The only thing was poor internet connection but honestly this is the case across the country (and a great excuse to connect with the hosts and other travellers instead)

Very basic and good option if it's offering the cheapest dorm beds in Stone Town. It's not worth paying extra to stay here. Has potential but no-one seems interested.
