The North Face Lodge

We recently stayed 2 nights at the North face Lodge and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a comfy room with a great view. The price was very affordable too. There were 7 of us and we all gathered on the large back deck in the evening for relaxation and fun conversation after riding our motorcycles in the area and also riding on the Alpine Loop. ROBIN the hostess was fabulous in welcoming us and making us feel at home. She offered drinks and snacks on the back deck for everyone every night. I would definitely book this place to stay again! ~Michele

Parking wasn’t the best but we made it work.

The lady running the hotel is very nice. We really appreciated she accommodated us with a dog. It is a decent motel , but sorry it’s not worth $200 a night. The price tag for what the motel provides is outrageous. There is no breakfast, very little space for storing clothes and the bathrooms are extremely small and outdated. The patio is shared with all other rooms so technically it’s not a patio. However, to be objective, all properties in Lake City, including Airbnbs, charge outrageous prices, so you don’t have much of a choice there. I understand it is a very remote town with a lot of charm and fantastic outdoors, but why they trying so hard to be Aspen 2.0 is an enigma to me. Next time I will rather bring a tent than pay 200 bucks a night for mediocre accommodation.

Excellent stay at the North Face Lodge in Lake City, CO. Stayed in the Antlers Room which was perfect for a couple and dog. Proprietors were friendly and helpful. Perfect base of operations for your trip. Not too far into town. Easy walk to grocery store and breakfast places. Longer walk to get to town restaurants and stores, but easily manageable.

Room ok seeming clean until I got into bed and there was already sand between the sheets. Tv didnt work at night. Two cold showers the next morning and I wondered what #2&3 hotels in lake city were like. The shared deck has a beautiful view and it set up really well but everything is old and needs some care. Id say overpriced for what it is but the area is amazing we will camp next time.

Exceptional facility ... Very clean and well-appointed ... Co-owner and Manager Robin was great -- her availability and willingness to answer questions and provide information was greatly appreciated. We are a retired couple who had our 3 grandchildren with us and we were very pleased with our accommodations at the North Face Lodge. Highly recommend it. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐G

We liked everything!

If you are a discerning traveler this is the place for you. After a 4 hour motorcycle ride from Buena Vista we stayed at the North Face Lodge. Trust me you will not be disappointed. The view is spectacular the room is so comfy and has all that you need for a wonderful stay. Miss Robin treated us to cheese and crackers and complimentary beer and wine. Do not miss this wonderful property. Just beautiful, inviting and just perfect. We stayed in the fourteeners room.

We love staying at North Face Lodge. The owners are very friendly and take the time to talk to the guests. The accommodations are always clean and well stocked with necessities. We've stayed there many times and have never been disappointed. Did I mention that the patio is so relaxing and the view can't be beat!
