Our welcome was great, and the courtesy and friendliness of the owners and staff continued throughout our stay. Graeme had replied to my queries at the time of booking (the only Hotel owner to do so out of 7 hotels/pubs we'd sayed at during a two week tour of the West Country); both he and Nikki helped me with a parking "situation", see below!, and somehow made the time to chat with guests and locals. Dinner and breakfast both excellent thankyou, good choice, conceived, prepared and presented with aplomb. The owners and chef obviously do care! Location couldn't be bettered if you are staying in Wilton. A few car park spaces in the forecourt, lots more in the immediately adjacent Public car park (do read the rules about duration etc.). An interesting and varied old building, carefully and sensitively updated.

Not a lot. Our room (Nadder) was small and OK for a night but wouldn't want to stay multiple nights. The bed was just a double but that's what I must have booked, and if there had been a larger room and bed available Nikki would have moved us. The tiny other mentions are ground pepper mills please, tissues in the bedrooms, and ideally 3 or 4 marked bays in the forecourt parking area (not knowing I had carefully manoeuvred my car into a "space" that was 90 degrees out).

The room was very spacious. The staff (in particular the lady owner) were lovely. Very clean.

Excellent breakfast and evening meal . Very comfortable room with lovely little outside are next to the room .
