The location was close to our destination. The suite was a nice size.

The comforter on the bed was stained. Also, the towels looked a bit gray. In the bedroom next to the entrance, I found hair that was not mine on the bed when I moved the comforter down from the bed. The details of the room when booking stated there would be a sofa bed, but there was no one available.

Beautiful decor, quiet, comfortable

Limited stock in kitchen - for one night stay, had to find a store for coffee for one night. Spiderwebs on stairs, windows, corners, and other fixtures, too many stairs - even for us (and we don’t mind stairs), hard start to arrival (smart lock prohibited entering before exact 3:00 hour while then asking to let them know if we check out early for their cleaning convenience. We drove 4 hours only to arrive 10 minutes early to have to wait in the hallway for the 3 o’clock hour to strike. Property was not flexible at all regarding check in but wanted us to accommodate their cleaning crew if we checked out early. Restaurant and shop was not open and limited options in town. We would opt for a hotel in State College for future Penn State visits. Disappointed this won’t be able to be our long-term lodging solution.

The building restoration is amazing. I loved that some original features were maintained. The size of the suite was awesome! I really liked having a full sized refrigerator/freezer, especially since we were there for a PSU football weekend and had food to take to a tailgate. The location in Bellefonte was excellent--a quick and easy 15 minute ride to State College. Also, Bellefonte is changing in a good way since I lived in this area as a child!

Everything was great--except that hike up the stairs with heavy suitcases. It would have been nice to have an elevator option if it was still possible to maintain the historical features of the building. I thought not having a front desk would be weird, but the self check in and electronic entry to the rooms/suites worked very well.

no elevator nor did I see it mentioned at booking.com. too many floors to go up for this old man. no ice machine - saw the tray of ice cubes but, really? side chairs were unacceptable. you can't relax in them cheap flimsy chairs. guess the room was to small to put regular size chairs in.

Bed was comfortable, historic building was cool to look at, both inside and out. Liked the self check-in as we were a late arrival so didn't have to worry about calling anyone, etc. Room had a microwave we didn't use, but it was useful for anyone wanting to heat up dinner leftovers. Coffee capsules were provided, but no tea. Inhouse restaurant was really tasty and generous servings.

The hand shower kept running after using it, one of the provided towels was stained. The aircon unit was very noisy all night, but room was too hot to turn it off. We had the John Dunlop suite in the basement - and there was a party in the Speakeasy function space right next to this suite (cleverly hidden behind a painting). Whilst it was wrapped up by about 11pm we had been travelling all day so found it VERY noisy with "people" noise and we were unable to get to sleep until it was done. Restaurant credit card facility was "down" so we got sent over the road to a mini mart to get cash (who told me that the cc facility had been down for weeks).

This is a fabulous location, a short walk to a great coffee and breakfast place and the local town. the restaurant and bar on site are a terrific addition. i would definitely stay here again. The room is spacious and had more than what we needed for the space.

The place was very nice - cool old historic vibe with modern décor. Comfortable and good to have the little frig and coffee maker. Enjoyed all the old pictures and information posted around. Bar and restaurant looked fun but we did not try them.

There was not enough lighting in the place and the bathroom needed more room for towels and kit bags. Also the shower door did not seal well.
