Kyono Mori Yurinsha

A beautiful boutique hotel that is comfortable and has a simple provincial elegance to the decor and feel. The location is close to main attractions and shopping districts in Kyoto yet is tucked away in a quiet street. The hotel rooms (6 in total) are situated above the family bakery and offer a unique accomodation experience in Kyoto. The breakfast is delicious, not traditional Japanese but a mix of soup, baked bagels (freshly made on the premises), eggs, etc and a choice of cake or creme brulee - the breakfast is substantial and I had a different option each day. The room is spacious and clean, and the bathroom is small but is consistent with the overall size of the boutique hotel. The owners are friendly, helpful and attentive. The hotel may not be accessible to everyone due to the stairs and size of bathroom, so best to enquire first based on your needs, but is a quality option for a quiet, unique experience in Kyoto with an exceptional breakfast, and the lovely aroma of baking to wake up to each morning. I had a lovely stay and would highly recommend.

It’s a really lovely family run place, location is very convenient to move around the city and to arrive from the train station. The room is quite small, but it is smartly organized and perfectly comfortable for 2 adults, and our suitcases 🙂 there’s also a cute cafe run by the family, we had there breakfast one day and it was delicious. The hosts were also very friendly and helpful, they stored our luggage since we arrived early.

Fijne, rustige en nette kamer. Fijne sfeer. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Leuke buurt met veel restaurants.

De prijs is erg hoog. Het ontbijt is ook erg duur. De roomservice kwam 1 keer langs, en toen is er haast niets gedaan. Bijvoorbeeld bed niet opgemaakt. Dat had ik wel verwacht voor deze prijs.

Hotelli oli pieni, kaunis ja hyvin viihtyisä. Sijainti erinomainen, keskellä kaupunkia ja todella rahallinen. Parasta kuitenkin oli ystävällinen, huomaavainen ja hienotunteinen palvelu joka päivä kaikissa tilanteissa. Aamupala oli monipuolinen ja maukas, joka aamu erilainen ja myös gluteiinittomuus ja kasvisruokailu otettiin hyvin huomioon. Suosittelen lämpimästi.

Location was perfect and staff were extremely friendly. We were staying on the top floor and there is no lift so we were very grateful that our luggage was carried up the stairs.

The bathroom is tiny and there was nowhere to hang wet towels after a shower

The host was wonderful.
