Melronz inn

It's a quaint little place. Don't expect hotel extravagance and your expectations and experience should be fine. The best part about this place is that it is just next to the beach, literally. The host is friendly and respectful. She can organise the trip to whale shark, sumilan island and tumalog falls for you if needed. Which includes all the cost for the guide, car and fees. It's about a 15 min walk to the main hub if you want to find something to eat. Didn't mind the walk but the locals will catch a tuktuk. Not much to do here except whale watching which was fantastic.

The electrical plugs are hard to find. Behind the bed and on a wall far from the bed with no table. Not a great convenient place to charge phones. The tv does not work either but we didn't stay long.

We enjoyed our stay so much! We even wanted to extend it, but unfortunately the room was no longer available. The room was spacious, the air conditioning was quiet, and there was always hot water in the shower. We also appreciated the free drinking water. The wifi was a bit weak in the room, but I was still able to work remotely without any problems. The best part was definitely the terrace with a sea view—we saw so many turtles from there! The staff also helped us organize a whale shark trip, which was truly a highlight of our Philippines trip.

Our hosts Evelyn and her husband were so so lovely. Very helpful organising our tours, recommendations for places to eat and even helped us hail the bus for our trip back to Cebu City so we could get an air-conditioned bus. Their driver, Eddie who took us on our tours was also great. The location was fantastic! Beautiful terrace down to the beach right from the accommodation was a huge plus. We even saw turtles while snorkelling out the back of the hotel. Comfy beds as well. Convenient location, short walk to restaurants and 7-11 in town. 20 minute drive from whale sharks in Oslob. A few reviews mentioned water pressure but it wasn't really an issue and is pretty standard for that part of the Phillipines. Don't let this deter you from staying at Melronz, you won't want to miss out!

The room was great although basic . Of course , Evelyn and her husband's reputation of being so helpful and friendly preceeds them and it is so true . Don't fret about any plans as they go out of their way to assist. Jerry , the tok tok driver who helps with transport is such a stunning person . We even asked them to have a barbecue of baby tuna's with us for lunch and Evelyn supplied the steamed rice for us . It was as if we were family .

Not much to do in Oslob except , of course , whale shark diving which I now regard as a bit overated . To many people being herded around in the amount of swimming area condoned off for the 3 or so whale sharks . It is an experience I suppose but not in any way special . Mexico offers a better experience ..

Everything was amazing, especially the kind owners of the property. Evelyn was very talkative and a lovely person. She was always available and helped me with the shark observation. Her driver friend was also an amazing guy. I’m really glad I booked the experience this way. Although we had to wait in line for a few hours (which is almost unavoidable for whale shark observation), I was never bored with him. His recommendations were also spot on. The room is amazing—spacious and extremely clean. The view is beautiful, and it’s extraordinary to fall asleep while listening to the waves. There is also a terrace with a spectacular view. Another shoutout to Evelyn’s husband. He came with me and waited until the right bus arrived to take me to Liloan Port. Special thanks to him as well. Overall, their hospitality exceeded my expectations. I’ve visited more than 30 countries, and I’ve rarely experienced such friendliness, except in some Mediterranean countries, including my own.
