The Beaufort Hunt

Large room, friendly staff, awesome breakfast. Lovely village outlook.

Disturbed night with little sleep. Noisy room above bar affected by voices from below until 11.30pm, then loud music with thumping bass playing until 12.30am, said to be from a nearby pub. Raised voices and arguments in street outside at 2am. Appeared to be only one letting bedroom. Bed reasonably comfortable. En-suite bathroom of a reasonably good standard. Good breakfast, although table set for only one person rather than two, which had to be rectified. Could not recommend this as a place to stay at a weekend due to noise - may be different on a weeknight.

It wasn't really value for money as it was very tired and outdated.

We're reviewing this as backpackers walking the Monarch's Way. Our room had everything we needed and was large with space to stretch out, including a sofa. Basic toiletries (which we rely on as we don't carry any). The pub is an old building and our room was reached from a side entrance, which I always prefer. Breakfast is served in the bar downstairs. Staff were kind, friendly and helpful. It's not luxurious so that suited us. We ate at an excellent Italian (takes a lot for me to say that) up the road, Il Gusto, and across the road at The Squire Steak House; again highly recommended

This is not a criticism but might help other readers - The Beaufort could do with a facelift and some attention to detail in parts. The approach to the rooms is scruffy and the breakfast (served by a lovely guy) was perfectly cooked but lacks the kind of things we expect for the price, such as fruit, yoghourts, and pastries. We paid less at The Ormond in Tetbury for a far higher standard of room and food. For us backpackers, it was fine though

Shower head wouldn't stay in it's holder. Location on high street wouldn't suit everyone, steep staircase
